Anti-Violence Project (AVP)
The New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project (AVP) serves lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, and HIV-affected victims of crime, with specialized services for victims of bias crimes, domestic violence, sexual assault, and HIV-related violence, among other things. Nearly one-half of all AVP clients seek help for domestic violence.

VIP is the only agency in New York City to operate an English/Spanish hotline, 24 hours a day/7 days a week, including holidays. Our hotline counselors can help you access a variety of services including counseling, housing, legal, financial immigration, health, employment, and other domestic abuse-related support.
